Every item in this issue points the same way. NSW gives clubs two years to stand up a workforce that can operate under facial recognition and account-based play. Queensland’s consolidation settings reward the groups with enough management depth to absorb a second or third venue. And the ACT panel has told government outright that governance and workforce capability must be built before gaming revenue comes down.
None of that is solved by putting the current executive through another short course. It is solved by identifying the three or four people in your club who could run it, and starting them on a qualification now, while there is still time for it to matter.
The Club Excellence Pathway is Barrington’s answer to that, at three levels. Entry is by board or management nomination; each takes eighteen months.
