CARRIAGEWAY CROOKS PARK
Crooks Park Homestead
Closed to the public until recently, Crooks Park is an original Hunter Valley property over 180 years old. Fully restored to its original condition, it is soon to offer pristine accommodation options for individuals and corporates starting in 2007.
Matched only by the beauty of the surrounding countryside, this beautiful homestead is a truly historic part of the Hunter Valley. It was part of the original land selection made in 1828.
Since that time, there have only been three families living on the property, and up until recently it has been strictly off limits to the public. The main homestead was built in 1873 and was the main development on the property. The outbuilding, originally used as a dairy, was built in approximately 1832 and has since been fully restored to its original condition.
1 May 2007 sees the Homestead being open for accommodation, perfect for couples after a special escape and for groups or corporates looking to hire the entire homestead as a superb function or conference venue. Ideal for hosting a wonderful Christmas in July with friends or family.
A homestead as grand as this one deserves to have activity within its halls once again and to be enjoyed by the public for its uniqueness and beauty.

Take your own picnic or ask our chef to tailor something special for effortless enjoyment, and head off to a quiet spot under a tree or on the banks of the Williams River. SCENIC DRIVES From the famous rivers and wineries of the Hunter Valley to the World Heritage area of Barrington Tops and the wilderness areas, a drive in any direction becomes a beautiful journey in itself. TRAIN SPOTTING With the main line running through a far corner of our property, train spotting is very popular, especially amongst the children. We even have our own timber bridge for those wanting a closer experience. FISHING With the picturesque Williams River flowing right through the Carriageway property, why not pack a picnic and head out for a spot of fishing – there's no more relaxing way to spend a summer afternoon. SWIMMING POOL Our 12 metre in-ground pool is the perfect way to cool off and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of the rural setting. Of course, it is fully-fenced to prevent children accessing the pool area unsupervised.
