Alternate Route To Queensland

Did you know that Thunderbolts Way is alittle-used route north and is all sealed. Take the Bucketts Way turnoff and follow the road thru to Gloucester.

At Gloucester, you can head east and rejoin the Pacific Highway at Taree so that you miss the major bottlenecks at Karuah and Buladelah.

Thunderbolts Way is very scenic. Note that it is all one lane in each direction and there are several tight, narrow sections between Gloucester and Nowendoc.

There are some lovely spots by the river north of Gloucester and Woko National Park is beautiful.
